Companion Copilot Course

Companion Copilot Course

If you often fly with a spouse, child, friend, or other frequent flying companion who is not a pilot, you can give them the opportunity to learn more about how they can pinch hit and help you, and enjoy being an active participant in the flight. Our Companion Copilot Course is an excellent resource for your flying companion to learn the basic understanding of how planes fly, and how to operate instruments and radios in the event of an emergency. The course covers preflight tasks, simple aerodynamic concepts, navigation and communication considerations, checklist use, and emergency procedures. Your non-pilot passenger will come away with a greater understanding of how airplanes fly and will be better prepared to enjoy the flight. The Companion Copilot Course takes between 5 and 10 hours, depending on your flying companion’s needs and goals.
